1st & 2nd Places are eligible for qualification to the Irish Pig Society Show Championships Pedigree Certification must be provided for entry to pedigree classes either BPA or IPSL Non Pedigree any animal either sow or gilt, will be judged on quality of breeding, conformation, colouring, set of jowl, overall look of the animal.

Class 850 Best Pedigree Sow any breed that has had at least 1 litter and is over 1 year old.

Class 851 Best Pedigree Gilt any breed. A female under 1 year old who has not had a litter.

Class 852 Best Non Pedigree Sow Class 853 Best Non Pedigree Gilt

THE CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Irish Pig Society Show ‘Championships’ will be held Sunday 4th October 2015

Stradbally Hall, Stradbally, Co. Laois.

At the indoor Equestrian Centre

ALL QUALIFYING ANIMALS WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY ENTERED

PRIZES 1st 30 and a trophy, 2nd 20, 3rd 10.

The winner of each class will be automatically entered into the overall Irish Champion Pig category for 2015. The overall Irish Champion Pig for 2015 will receive a trophy with 100 prize money

For full members of the Irish Pig Society winning status will be recorded against the breeding history of the animal on the Irish Pig Society Herdbook.

All Pigs must be identified by means of an approved ear tag on movement off the holding. All consignments of pigs which are being moved must be accompanied by a completed dispatch document. The document should reflect the movement to and from the show. The owner keeps two copies and the show one copy. The movement of pigs to and from shows must be notified by phone to the central movement database on 1890 291 000 at least 24 hours before the movement takes place.

Irish Pig Society reps will help assist and support exhibitors with movement dockets on the day which will be provided to the Sec of the Tullow  Show.
